How is driving?

I was driving this afternoon from office to home. I was in good mood because the traffic was light. Suddenly, the traffic became moderate then heavy. Then, I spotted the sign on the back door of the van I was following:

It made me smile and forgot about the heavy traffic. In a matter of minutes, the traffic flow became faster again. I might call the telephone number and complain to the owner of the van that its sign made me smile.

Soccer Balls and Portable Soccer Equipment

I am not a soccer player neither a fan of it. I had never played soccer in my life until I went to Sydney, Australia several years ago. My nephew, who is a varsity soccer player, invited me and my wife to watch professional soccer games. I was really amazed at how these soccer players completely control and maneuver the soccer ball with their feet – kicking, dribbling, passing, catching and shooting. After the games, I became interested in it and requested my nephew to teach me the basics and tricks of the games. The first time I kicked the ball, I fell in love with the game. Though I have not continued playing the game, I became a fan of it. And, I love watching professional soccer games even on cable television only.

Soccer game is a wonderful sport; and I believe it should be introduced to kids as early as possible, preferably at age 6. To rouse their interests in the game, parents may bring their kids to watch soccer games or give them soccer ball. To train your kids and improve their skills, you can find Soccer Balls and other soccer training equipment online at Soccergoalzinc.com. It carries the brand Franklin Sports, a company with over 50 years experience in the business. You can choose from the selection of portable soccer goals, soccer rebounders, soccer nets and soccer backstops, which can be carried anywhere. Aside from soccer equipment, Soccergoalzinc.com also markets portable Street Hockey goals and equipment.

Pamunuan San Lalawigan Sa Leyte

The title is literally translated as the Capitol of the Province of Leyte. This building is located at the corner of Sen. Enage Street and Magsaysay Boulevard in Tacloban City – the capital of Leyte, Philippines. The façade is along Sen. Enage Street. It was built in 1907; and the seat of the Leyte Provincial Government. The incumbent Leyte Governor is Carlos Jericho Petilla.

In 1944, it became the seat of the Commonwealth Government of Philippines when the then President Sergio Osmena came in with the WW II Liberation Forces.

I have been to Tacloban City countless of times since 1985; but only sighted this beautiful structure last Wednesday. I wasn’t able to explore it then yet; as I was catching my flight for Manila. When I return to Tacloban, I’d make it a point to explore it.

I SHALL RETURN!

PhotoHunt 94 - Old-fashioned

Whew! I had a hard time looking for my entry for this week's theme - Old-fashioned. I've searched in my photo folders; and, there's none. I looked around the house and found my subject.

PhotoHunt

It's photo album. With the advent of latest and sophisticated technology - computer, internet, CD/DVD, digital camera, storing pictures in a physical photo album is becoming or already an old-fashioned. Instead, photos are being stored in computer's hard disk, CD/DVD and online photo album. Unlike the physical pictures, the quality of the digital pictures remains good and intact. Actually, physical pictures are now being converted digitally.

No Sticker, No Exit

We were passing through one of the subdivision in Caloocan City on our way to North Luzon Expressway via Meycauayan, Bulacan when we spotted the several signs saying "No Sticker, No Exit" inside the subdivision. Normally, you would see sign on the gate saying, "No Sticker, No Entry". I just don't see the logic and found it funny. Actually, this is not being implemented as we were able to enter and exit even without the sticker.

Coupon Chief for Valentine's Day

"Stupid Cupid
You're a real mean guy
I'd like to clip your wings
So you can't fly
I am in love and it's a crying shame
And I know that you're the one to blame. . ."

Valentine’s Day is just less than a month away. It is a special day for lovers. But, forget stupid cupid. All we need is CouponChief’s online shopping coupons to celebrate this love day wonderfully.

For this event, I am still thinking for the presents to give to my wife and two kids. My wife would love to receive a dozen roses. And, perhaps a perfume for my son and a make-up kit for my daughter. I have searched CouponChief and looked for Overstock coupons, Spalook deals, and Fleurop coupon codes for my wishlist. While searching, I found the printer that I was looking for at Fujitsu; and the corkscrew at Wine Enthusiast. Also, for my computer paraphernalia and shoes, I will check Dell.com and Shoebuy.com, respectively.

If you have not made your wishlist yet, you could go to CouponChief and search for the perfect gifts for your loved ones.

Advance Happy Valentine's Day.

The one wearing the patient’s gown and short is me. I had my executive check-up last month. Our company requires us to undergo executive check-up annually; as this is very IMPORTANT to monitor our health conditions. Many people have been diagnosed with major and dreaded diseases when it is already too late because they fail or refuse to undergo regular check-ups. Medical check-ups, whether required or not, should be done regularly to monitor our physical and health conditions to prevent or early detect any physical or health disorder in our bodies.

When was the last time you visited your doctor for check-up? If it is more than a year ago, it is IMPORTANT to re-visit him/her again.

Construction Skills

Amidst the advent and inexorable progress of different technologies, construction workers are still among the most in-demand workforce today. Construction industry hires people who are qualified, skilled and competent in the field. But, that does not stop there. Employers should develop and enhance their workers qualifications, skills and competence through continuous learning and training.

Construction Skills provide information, trainings and qualifications to enhance workers’ proficiency within the industry. For employers, they can register in CITB - Construction Skills Grant their current apprentices in their businesses and have that chance to teach and train young starting workers. On the other hand, experienced workers can improve their skillfulness by going through assessments and trainings, which could earn them enough competence for qualifications such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs), and Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.

Construction industry gives lots of opportunities for labors. However, there are also lots of others competing for it. Workers could build up their skills and then their careers. Be ahead of everyone through Cskills’ trainings and qualifications.

We believe we could fly

We believed we could fly like the flying Super Heroes, Superman, Wonder Woman, Darna, & Capt. Barbell, that we attempted to. But the gravity proved us wrong. And, we're back to the ground. We had just fun jumping up.

The flights were attempted at Camp John Hay, Baguio City.

SBMA Flag Pole

This is the SBMA flag pole located at Subic waterfront, which is just across the street from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Administration Building, Subic, Philippines. The pole is 96 feet tall to symbolize the number of years of US military presence in the Philippines. Its base is 8 feet high to represent the 8,000 volunteers who reformed and rebuilt the former US naval base into SBMA.

The largest Filipino flag was unfurled here during the turn-over ceremony of the former US naval base to the Philippines on November 24, 1992.

My current page rank

This blog’s page rank is, or should I say was, PR2. I was checking my PayPerPost account, when I noticed that the Google page rank of this blog is no longer 2 but zero. I think it has already suffered the same fate as my other blog, Think of Me! - its PR3 evaporated in thin air. Ironically, I knew a new blog that is two months old, less active, with four posts only, and with little or practically no traffic but already have PR2. My other blog, which was dormant for a long time and has five entries only, had PR3. It’s funny, isn’t it? Is page ranking realistic or it is just manipulating the cyber world?

My current Alexa rank is 1,145, 722 from 1,741,361 a month ago.

Another attempt to withdraw from Paypal

This is my third attempt. First, I reviewed again the procedures about withdrawing from Paypay personal account, particularly to a credit card:

  1. Credit cards with VISA logo only are acceptable. Other credit cards, such as AMEX, Mastercard can be used in other transactions.
  2. The minimum withdrawal is US$10; and the maximum withdrawal per day is US$500;
  3. The processing period is 5 to 7 days, but it still depends on the card issuer’s policy;
  4. The withdrawal fee is $5;
  5. The return fee is $10, if the withdrawn fund is returned to Paypal due to incomplete and incorrect information in the withdrawal request.

Since I have no VISA credit card yet, I tried to enroll my wife’s Metrobank VISA. YES! It was accepted; and it was not required to be enrolled in the Expanded Use Program (if for withdrawal purpose only). So, I attempted to withdraw to her VISA card. I entered the amount to be withdrawn and clicked the "Continue" button. On the review page, however, my name and not my wife’s name appeared as the “Name on Card”. During the enrollment, I edited my name to that of my wife in the form as the card holder. But, apparently, Paypal assumes that the Paypal account holder is the same as the holder of enrolled credit card.

Thus, I hesitated to confirm the transaction lest I might be charged $10 return fee due to incorrect information. I just canceled it.

Meantime, while my fund is accumulating, I’d would apply for a credit card with VISA logo or request my wife’s card issuer to issue an extension card for me.

PhotoHunt 92 : Skinny

Skinny
may mean thin or lean. Could it also mean full of skin? Anyway, my entry for this theme is a “lechon” or roasted pig. When I went to Tacloban City, Philippines last year, I brought home a whole lechon. What I like most in lechon is its crispy skin. The pigs they roast in Tacloban are not the fatty but the leaner ones. Tacloban lechons are already delectable even without the lechon sauce.

I couldn't withdraw from my Paypal

Last month, I tried to withdraw from my PayPal account but was unsuccessful. I enrolled my American Express Credit Card but had not enrolled it in the Expanded Use Program yet. So, I enrolled it; but, I had to wait for the access number that would appear in my next AMEX Statement of Account. After waiting for a month, I received my statement, got the access number and entered it into my Paypal Acccount. The status of my account now is “Philipine – Verified”. I was already excited to withdraw and pay my credit card billing.

I checked first how much would I withdraw. It’s $750; but wait! there’s a limit of $500 per day. That’s just fine. I clicked the Withdraw tab and tried to withdraw. Holy cow! I couldn’t use my AMEX card for withdrawal. It only accepts credit card, debit card, or prepaid card with VISA logo. I thought I could already use my AMEX to withdraw once I completed my Expanded Use enrolment. But, I was wrong! No, the instruction is misleading. It says, "Add a card to your PayPal account to raise your sending limit, withdraw funds from your PayPal account, use as backup funding, or confirm your address."

Credit Card Debt Consolidation

Buying on credit is a big help, especially if you need something important and you don’t have the needed cash. And, it is fun too. Hence, some credit card holders used their credit cards compulsively, unwisely and irresponsibly despite knowing the fact that they lack the financial capability to repay huge loans. More often than not, they would find themselves with accumulated unpaid credits sooner or later. They may think they could get out of this trouble on their own. Maybe, but it would be harder and tougher if they do it alone without any professional help. Or, they need to bet in a lottery and win a jackpot for them to be able to pay all their loans. If you found yourself in this kind of situation, you need to consult and get advices from financial experts. Unless you do so, you will never get out of this predicament but will get deeper into financial trouble and emotional dilemma as well.

To seek professional help, you may visit NoDebtToday.com. It is the fastest, easiest, and the cheapest way to get rid of all your debts. It offers free debt consultation to help you fix all your debt problems. Its financial professionals will point, guide and assist you to the right directions out of all your debts, such as the credit card debt consolidation, multiple debt consolidation, or credit repair.

Best Response

I received this from my friend, Matt. I am not sure if it's true or just a joke. Anyway, you will enjoy this one
---------------
If you ever testify in court, you might wish you could have been as sharp as this policeman. He was being cross-examined by a defense attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer was trying to undermine the policeman's credibility...

Q: 'Officer -- did you see my client fleeing the scene?'

A: 'No sir. But I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender, running several blocks away.'

Q: 'Officer -- who provided this description?'

A: 'The officer who responded to the scene.'

Q: 'A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?'

A: 'Yes, sir. With my life.'

Q: 'With your life ? Let me ask you this then officer. Do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?'

A: 'Yes sir, we do!'

Q: 'And do you have a locker in the room?'

A: 'Yes sir, I do.'

Q: 'And do you have a lock on your locker?'

A: 'Yes sir.'

Q: 'Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with these same officers?'

A: 'You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.'

The courtroom erupted in laughter, and a prompt recess was called. The officer on the stand has been nominated for this year's 'Best Comeback' line -- and we think he'll win.

A Lesson in Arithmetic

Do you want to know if you are good in arithmetic? Take this simple test. I did; and my answers are all correct. This was emailed to me by an officemate from Pampanga; and I’d like to share it with you.

———-

Where did this P1.3 billion go?

A LESSON IN ARITHMETIC

Subject: Fr. Ed Panlilio - Governor of Pampanga

I’m 100% sure this income disparity is replicated in all the provinces of the Philippines. If we had more Ed Panlilios in our government, we would be just like Singaporein a short time. Read on……

We hope we are witnessing what will be a sustained revolution in good governance in the Province of Pampanga, under its newly elected governor, Fr. Ed Panlilio. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer of August 26, only one month after Fr. Panlilio assumed his gubernatorial duties, the province’s income from the quarrying of volcanic ash from Mount Pinatubohad reached P29.4 million. (Haulers pay a fee of P300 per truck of volcanic ash that they haul from the quarry.) By contrast, during his predecessor Mark Lapid’s term as governor, the province’s income from the same quarrying operations amounted to only P29 million a year.
This gaping variation in official incomes from the same activity should inspire a new set of textbooks in Arithmetic, especially for the school children of Pampanga. There is nothing like local color and local situations to cultivate comprehension in young minds.

Sample problems: If Fr. Ed’s provincial government can collect P29.4 million in 26 days (we assume no quarrying on Sundays), how much does it collect in one day?

Answer: An average of P1.130 million.

If Fr. Ed’s provincial government collects an average of P1.130 million a day from quarrying operations, how much can it collect in one year of 313 days (365 days less 52 Sundays)? Answer: P353, 690,000, or P354 million.

If Fr. Ed’s provincial government can collect P354 million a year, and Mark Lapid’s provincial government collected only P29 million a year, what is the difference in their official yearly collections?

Answer: P325 million a year.

If Mark Lapid was governor for four years and his provincial government’s annual collections from quarrying amounted to an average of P29 million, how much did his provincial govt. officially collect in four years?

Answer: P116 million.

If Fr. Ed manages to remain as provincial governor for four years, and his provincial government’s annual collection from quarrying were to average P354 million, how much will his provincial government collect in four years?

Answer: P1.416 billion.

What is the difference between P1.416 billion and P116 million?

Answer: P1.3 billion.

Where did this P1.3 billion go?

Answer: Only God and the Lapids know. (’Lapids’ is in plural because Mark, as a second generation political dynast, succeeded his own father, now Sen. Lito Lapid.

We don’t know how much Lito’s provincial government officially collected from quarrying operations during his watch. Should be a good investigative project for media.) If Gawad Kalinga spends an average of P75,000 per low cost house, how many low-cost houses can P1.3 billion build?

Answer: 17,333 low-cost houses.

If the average Pampanga family were to consist of five persons (father, mother, three children), how many people would be benefited by 17,333 low-cost houses?

Answer: 86,665 persons.

End of Arithmetic lesson.

Fr. Ed is to be congratulated for setting a high benchmark for collection from quarrying operations against which his predecessors have a moral obligation to explain why their collections were so low, and against which future governors will be judged by the people of Pampanga.

Volcanic ash, by the way, is a superior building material. Many of the buildings, aqueducts & monuments of the Roman Empirethat have survived for almost 2,000 years are known to have been built w/ volcanic ash, quarried from the environs of Mount Vesuviusafter it erupted in 79 AD.

We don’t expect Fr.Ed’s moral victory in Pampanga to be remembered for the next 2,000 yrs. We would be happy with five, ten or 20 years, enough, we hope, to spawn a moral-revolution- by- example to save the Filipinos from their worst enemies - themselves. GOOD LUCK Philippines!

“Therefore, the primary cause of poverty is not overpopulation of the Philippines! It’s because our country is overpopulated with corrupt officials”!

Surgeons offer Alternative Plastic Surgery

This post is intended for women who are in need of alternative plastic surgery only? Well, if you are, Dr. John R. Miklos is the surgeon you are looking for. Why him? To earn the prestigious “American Top Doctor Award”, this doctor must be special and extra ordinary. Yes, he is! From a gynecologist to urogynecologist, he pursued and trained in the sub-specialty of vaginal rejuvenation and succeeded. His education, numerous trainings, extensive experiences in this specialization as well as his various affiliations made him the world expert in this field of vaginal cosmetic surgery.

Many have already testified about the miracles and blessings they have received, such as healing, better health, and better life.

Some roads in the area will be closed to traffic. Thus, heavy traffic is expected in the nearby areas. Please check Trapik.com for the traffic advisory.

This week's theme is DELICIOUS. When we spent one weekend in Subic Bay Freeport Zone to celebrate the birthday of my wife, Beng, we ordered and took out this very large pizza from Xtremely Xpresso Cafe. It was so DELICIOUS that my daughter, Jaja, tried to devour it whole.

When we returned to Subic Bay, we had our lunch at the Xtremely Xpresso Cafe. We ordered a combo large pizza, spaghetti and buffalo wing. The pizza is so DELICIOUS that I think I could eat half of it.

However, in the event that you are unable to pay your loan and the finance fee in full on your due date, you can pay the finance fee and portion of the principal amount only or just the finance fee only. These options may be subject to some additional terms and conditions.

My personal note. I don’t encourage applying for cash advance or payday loan just to spend it for your whims or buy unnecessary things. It should be used only on immediate, urgent, and emergency cash needs. Regularly using cash advance or payday loans may put your in deep financial trouble.
