PhotoHunt 145 - Hat(s)

PhotoHunters

The theme is HAT(s). I don't have a HAT but caps. I was looking for my picture wearing a hard HAT but couldn't find it.

While considering what would be my entry, I took notice of wifey's collection of dolls, particularly the Chinese doll wearing a hat, which she bought in Hong Kong.

PhotoHunt 144 - Aftermath

PhotoHunters
As part of our road trip to Bicol region two weeks ago, we visited the Cagsawa Church ruins in Daraga, Albay, Philippines.

Only the belfry tower of the church is left above the ground in the AFTERMATH of the eruption of Mayon Volcano in 1814. About 15,000 people, including the 1,200 people who sought shelter inside the church, perished in this devastation. The tower has become a famous landmark and tourist attraction in the country. (Note: the tower was being cleansed, hence the scaffolds.)

The picture below was taken during my first visit in 1988 or 20 years ago. The Mayon Volcano was partly visible at the backdrop.

PhotoHunt 140 - Favorite

PhotoHunters

Chinese food is one of my FAVORITE dishes.

Last Thursday, I treated my staff for a dinner in one of the famous Chinese restaurants near our office in Makati City. They love Chinese food too. Actually, we're supposed to go to another restaurant but changed our minds when we saw the Chinese restaurant.

After pondering the menu, we ordered the following:

Cold Cuts Platter

Seafood Egg Fu-yung

Empress Chicken

Steamed Fish Fillet

Yeung Chow Fried Rice

House Tea

Anchor's away

This is an old rusty anchor located at the entrance of Grande Island Resort in Subic Bay, Philippines. We were at this island resort for three days and two nights and celebrated the birthday of a relative. Unfortunately, it was raining on our first two days. But, we were still lucky the weather was clear on our final day.

This was taken last All Saints Day (November 1) on the graves of my parents-in-law. It has been the Philippine tradition for the FAMILIES and relatives to visit the graves of their departed relatives on this day.

And, it's 14 days to All Saints Day. We shall again visit the graves of my parents-in-law in Holy Cross Memorial Park, my brother-in-law in Holy Redeemer Church Columbarium, and my father in Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes' Cemetery).

PhotoHunt 131 - Lazy

PhotoHunters

Actually, I was very LAZY to join PhotoHunt today. I went home at around 3:00 AM from a gimmick; and, I was still sleepy. But, PhotoHunt is PhotoHunt.

We're on the beach and this is my sister, Elvie. After eating our lunch, we raced to the hammock and she got there first. She just LAZED there while texting to her lovey-dovey and listening to the car stereo.

PhotoHunt 130 - Sad

PhotoHunters

Photobucket
This is the bereaved family of a fallen soldier.

This was taken two days before the All Saints Day last year at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes Cemetery). The family was there to upkeep his grave. I couldn't imagine how very SAD this young family felt when their loved one departed. Look at how SAD the older girl was. She could have missed his loving father so much that she hugged the cross at the next grave and thought of him.

I captured this moment as I felt very SAD too seeing how very young the kids when they lost their father.

I was there too upkeeping my father's grave.

Oh! It's 28 days to All Saints Day.

The Caylabne Bay Resort can be VIEWed.

This small paradise is located in the mouth of Manila Bay in Ternate, Cavite, Philippines. The surrounding area is one of the last forests of the country, and is being guarded by no less than the Philippine Marines.

PhotoHunt 125 - Beautiful

PhotoHunters
Last month, my handsome nephew tied the knot with her BEAUTIFUL girlfriend. A month after, we are back in their place in Quezon, Isabela, 400 kilometers (10 hours by land) from ours, to attend the wedding of his younger brother.
And, we have the opportunity to browse their BEAUTIFUL wedding album and watch the BEAUTIFUL video. We recalled how this BEAUTIFUL and momentous event transpired.

The BEAUTIFUL bride and her equally BEAUTIFUL maids of honor.
