PhotoHunt 107 - Unique/funny signs

PhotoHunters
PhotoHunt theme for this Saturday is Unique/Funny Signs.

In private subdivisions and villages, vehicle entries are limited to homeowners cars and other cars authorized by the Board of Directors. For this purpose, windshield stickers are issued to identify the authorized vehicles. And, "No sticker, no entry" signs are usually seen at the gates. However, special passes are given to guests and visitors provided they leave their identification cards or driver's licenses at the entry gate.

But this sign is unique:

It's still summer

Despite the rains that we've been experiencing, it's still summer here in th Philippines. The summer heat is still on. To beat the heat, one must go to a beach, a river, or a pool or go to a cooler place like Baguio or Tagaytay.

If you are from Metro Manila, the nearest clean beach are in Batangas, Bataan and Zambales, which are at least three hours away. Rivers can be found in Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, and Pampanga, which are at least two hours drive. With the soaring prices of fuel, going out of town could be more expensive. The cost of diesel has reached the P40 mark and the unleaded is 7 pesos higher. This made the summer heat hotter.

Swimming pools abound in the metropolis and nearby towns, but most of them, if not all, are crowded.

Another way to beat the heat is to stay in your room and turn of the aircon; that is, if you have one. You would only feel the heat once you receive your electric bill.

The cheapest way is go to a mall. Malls are scattered all over the metropolis; and, I'm pretty sure cou can find one near your place.

Outsourcing your IT requirements

With the advent of computers and information technology (IT), running and managing businesses have never been the same. Without an IT in your organization, you could not compete and survive in today’s fast paced business world. Let us face it, IT is here to stay and is already a necessity in every business, whether small, medium or large company, to become successful in their respective fields. Large companies can afford to have and maintain their own in-house IT group with experienced IT personnel. But, how about the small and medium size companies? Could they afford the expensive equipment and equally expensive personnel to maintain their own IT group? I doubt it.

Well, there is good news for these small and medium size companies. There are IT consulting firms that help these companies in their IT requirements. They do not need to maintain an in-house IT group but to outsource from an IT consulting firm. One Boston IT Outsourcing firm that offers comprehensive IT consulting solutions and network support services is iCorps Technologies. It has been in the business since 1994 helping small and midsize businesses in their IT requirements. Whatever IT requirements your company needs, iCorps has the right IT solutions for you.

Fine arts are invaluable, precious, and irreplaceable possessions that we want to treasure and protect from any harm – big or small. Sometimes, there are occasions that we need to move or transport them. And, damages are likely to happen during transportation. San Fabian Beach

At the San Fabian beach, we spent three days during the Holy Week. San Fabian is a third class municipality of the province of Pangasinan, Philippines and is about five hours from Metro Manila. The beach though not comparable to well-known beaches in the Philippines, such as Boracay, Pagudpud, Bantayan Island in Cebu, Bohol for their white sands, is being frequented by the Pangasinenses, visitors from neighboring provinces and from Metro Manila. The sand is black; and the water not pristine clear. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay there. We enjoyed not only the sun, sand and but the waves as well.

Help for Drug Abuse

Drug abuse has been a perennial problem. Despite the awareness and information programs of the government, civil societies, medical groups, and religious groups, it seems that drug abuse has not been abated but rather aggravated. New substances and variants are being developed and used. And, the law enforcement seems futile to address and control this very serious problem. Drug abuse affects not the common people only, but people in the middle, upper and high classes of society, including the celebrities, as well. Chronic drug abuse can ruin and devastate the victims’ lives - physically, emotionally, financially, and legally.

Physically, drug abuse could lead to several illnesses such as addiction, heart attack, respiratory failure, organ damage, hepatitis, stroke, and eventually to early death. Emotionally, it could lead to depression, hopelessness and could shatter victim’s relationship with his loved ones, family, friends, and relatives. Financially, it could cause loss of job and financial trouble. Legally, drug abuse is against the law and most victims resorted to robbery, holdups, and other wrongdoings to sustain their addictions.

If you or your loved one is a victim of drug abuse, do not lose hope. Just act now and help is available. Renaissance Malibu Drug Abuse Rehab offers such kind of help. Being the California’s premier drug abuse rehab, it is the right choice to commit and entrust drug abuse victims. It's another Saturday of photo hunting for a GLASS theme. Actually, several days ago I had already thought of what to post for this theme but just changed my mind when I saw my 20 years Loyalty Award, which is made of GLASS. The award has my picture taken when I was much much younger inscribed in it. The award was given in 2005 and came with a wrist watch. I'm now waiting for another two years to receive my 25th Loyalty Award.

Owning and driving a car is not just a status symbol but a necessity. It makes your life easier and gives you the freedom and convenience to travel or move from one place to another. But, there are downsides of owning a car, such as incurring additional expenses in its maintenance, registration, and insurance.
