It's still summer

Despite the rains that we've been experiencing, it's still summer here in th Philippines. The summer heat is still on. To beat the heat, one must go to a beach, a river, or a pool or go to a cooler place like Baguio or Tagaytay.

If you are from Metro Manila, the nearest clean beach are in Batangas, Bataan and Zambales, which are at least three hours away. Rivers can be found in Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, and Pampanga, which are at least two hours drive. With the soaring prices of fuel, going out of town could be more expensive. The cost of diesel has reached the P40 mark and the unleaded is 7 pesos higher. This made the summer heat hotter.

Swimming pools abound in the metropolis and nearby towns, but most of them, if not all, are crowded.

Another way to beat the heat is to stay in your room and turn of the aircon; that is, if you have one. You would only feel the heat once you receive your electric bill.

The cheapest way is go to a mall. Malls are scattered all over the metropolis; and, I'm pretty sure cou can find one near your place.
