PhotoHunt 90 - Messy

My entry for this week's theme - Messy

PhotoHunt

Last August this year, typhoons "Chedeng" and "Dodong" hit Central Luzon, Philippines. Right after the typhoons, we went to Subic Bay Freeport Zone to spend a long weekend. We proceeded to the board walk / beach area for a stroll. However, we were surprised to see the unsightly and MESSY condition of the beach. Tons of garbage and debris were washed ashore at the height of the typhoons.

When we returned to Subic a week after, the beach had been cleaned up and was no longer MESSY.

This beach though is not suitable for swimming; and it is not allowed.

Serviced apartments vs. hotels

Visit Brisbane, Australia this summer! Brisbane is the capital of the State of Queensland and the third largest city in Australia. You will enjoy your travel to Brisbane; as it has plenty of interesting places to go and unique things to do. The recommended places are the South Bank Parklands – for its beautiful beaches and many more, the two botanic gardens, the Queen Street mall – for your shopping, and the Fortitude Valley – for nightlife.

When you are traveling with your family, in group, or staying for longer period, it is best to stay in a serviced apartment, which is cheaper than hotel. For Brisbane accommodation, Astor Apartments are the best places to stay in.

top

They are centrally located on the doorstep of Brisbane’s busy Central Business District, and walking distance to Central Railway Station, cafes and restaurants, entertainment, and the Queen Street Mall. All types of rooms are smartly furnished with modern facilities, air-conditioned, and with spacious rooms. Whether you are on business or on holiday, you would enjoy the comfort and convenience of a home at Astor Apartments – it is indeed a “A home away from home”. To make you stay more relaxing, you can treat yourself with a spa or sauna, swim at the pool, or just enjoy a sizzling barbecue while on the pool deck.

And if you go to Melbourne, Perth, or Adelaide, it is recommended to look and book for serviced apartments rather than hotels for your Melbourne accommodation, Perth accommodation, or Adelaide accommodation. They are not only cheaper that but your stay would be more relaxing and enjoyable.

PhotoHunt 89: Light

PhotoHunt
We were eating our dinner last night in Flavours of China, one of our favorite Chinese restaurant. Suddenly, the ceiling light lit up. And, that gave me the idea to photograph it and consider it to be my entry in this week's . My other ideas were the Christmas lights, a falling feather, and a light beer. I decided to post the ceiling light.

This is the bottom view

I am also including this picture of wall lights of Dungeon Bar:

I am winning the Marhgil Macuha's $150 Anniverary Contest

I officially joined the $150 anniversary contest of SEO Expert Marhgil Macuha despite unknowledgeable about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I first posted my entry, unofficially yet, in my “Think Of Me!” blog at i.ph. When I Google searched for it, it wasn’t in the first 10 pages; and, I didn’t explore the subsequent pages anymore. I exported it to my "Think of Me & Laugh" at blogger.com; and, I was surprised it appeared on the third page. The day after, it moved down to page four. When it returned to page three after several days, I joined the contest officially.

At 10:00 p. m. today, it is on the first page of Google Search at number six.

Wow, I feel elated. Being seen on the first page is already a feat for me; and I feel being the winner already. I still need to wipe out the first five over me and that includes Marhgil Macuha’s slots. I didn’t bother to check the Yahoo Search yet. I don’t know though if the reading that I’m getting is correct and accurate. I will check SEO expert Marhgil Macuha’s perspective.

Wish me lots of luck.

Marhgil Macuha

Marhgil Macuha? Who is he? For me, the name rings a bell. I have been reading his name in some of the blogs that I am visiting. He is a blogger, but not an ordinary one I suppose, and an SEO expert. And what is an SEO? It means Search Engine Optimization. Sorry, I could not discuss it profoundly. You better discuss it with the SEO Expert himself.

From Allen of Silkenhut’s World, I learned that Marhgil Macuha has launched a contest dubbed as The $150 Anniversary Mini-SEO Contest. How to join? If you have a blog, make a blog post about anything about the keyword, which is his name: "Marhgil Macuha". It must be linked to his site http://www.macuha.com. By January 4, 2008 at 8:00 p.m., if your blog post ranks the highest on Google and Yahoo search engines, you will win S100 on Google and $50 on Yahoo.

Please click here for the mechanics of the contest.

Well, I am just trying my luck. I’m just posting this to see if I have some skills in SEO and mountains of luck to win. Anyway, I am not expecting to win; but, if I do, I would treat the world.

I wish I could meet this guy, Marhgil Macuha, and give him lessons on SEO - S_x Enhancement and Optimization.

Christmas lights

Most buildings in Makati City, Philippines are already embellished with Christmas decorations, displays and lights. Last night, the traffic in Makati Avenue towards Paseo de Roxas was very heavy. Hence, I was able to capture the Christmas lights in Manila Mandarin Hotel and in Gercon Plaza. I have not been to Ayala Avenue yet; so I have not seen how beautiful the avenue at night.

Nationwide Payday Loan Service

This Christmas season, we will surely spend more that we usually do. You are lucky if you received huge Christmas bonuses and other incentives. However, due to additional expenses we would incur in buying new clothes for the family, decorative items for our homes, gifts for our loved ones, and the food for the Christmas and New Year days, our salaries plus the bonuses may not be sufficient.

In case you fall short of cash this Christmas season and need quick cash advance, you can depend on Oasis Payday Loans. It offers payday loans online service, where you can conveniently obtain fast and easy cash advance ranging from $100 to $1,500. Applying online is easy, processing is fast, and the money is directly deposited to your bank account. It requires no credit checks, no collateral, no co-signers and no faxing of supporting documents. Payday Loans are available for you if you have a steady source of income of at least $900 per month and a valid checking or savings account. Payday loans are available nationwide (U. S., Alaska and Hawaii); and the money can be used for whatever purpose you deem it necessary.

Photo hunting

I've been reading photo hunt from other blogs. So, I checked what is this all about. Tnchick.com gave the answer.

About The PhotoHunt

The Photo Hunt was started in March 2006, by me! It really grew larger than I ever imagined and has been a great success.

A theme is given each Saturday. Post a photo that best represents the theme. New and old photos welcome. Post photos from your personal collection and not photos obtained from the web (please, no clip-art/web photos). Just play along once a week by posting a photo for the said theme.

How to play PhotoHunt:

Simple. You just play by posting a photo for the weekly theme on YOUR site - that’s it. Keep in mind, more will find you if you comment on my weekly PhotoHunt posted on the main page.

How will you know who is playing? View my comments each week, comment when you play so others can find you or Surf PhotoHunt on Technorati.

Tip: For the title of your post use “PhotoHunt: Theme” or something similar to help others know what is intended for the PhotoHunt.

Display the PhotoHunt Button

PhotoHunt

Support us! It will allow others to find us and join! Place the button shown above on your sidebar. Right click and “save as” or “copy image location” (hosted on imageshack). If you need help - just let me know.

I am joining the photo hunt and please check my entry this Saturday. The theme is "small".

Christmas decorations

It is only 16 days to Christmas day. My wife, Beng, has started decorating our home since last week. She has already fixed the Christmas tree, the Christmas lights, and other decorations. She is now busy changing the curtains. Here are the pictures of some of her hard work.

Happy Feet!

Are you fond of taking pictures of feet? Well, I was browsing and organizing my picture files and found the following pictures of feet. I could see, these were happy feet.

Views from the plane

For the past years, I have been traveling officially, mostly by air. Last year, because I traveled more than 30 times via PAL, I became an Elite member of PAL's Mabuhay Miles program. This year, however, I traveled less and I may not be able to meet the Mabuhay Miles Elite qualifications. I need to travel 8 more times within the rest of year to be qualified. Anyway, I would like to share some pictures I took from my seat from my last travel to Leyte. Fasten your seatbelts and fly with me:

St. Paul's choir

December 4 – From my executive check-up at St. Luke’s Medical Center, I proceeded to SM Mega Mall to attend the Awarding Ceremony of the 27th Chamber of Mines of the Philippines Annual Tenpin Bowling Tournament. Since it was still early I went to the grocery and bought some items, then walked around and window shopped. At the ground floor, there was an ongoing choir Christmas singing contest. I was at the fourth floor when a girls’ choir was performing. From there, I watched and listened to their performance. I also took their pictures from each floor down to the ground:

From the 4th floor

From the 3rd floor (a conductor took over)

From the 2nd floor

From the ground floor (the conductress returned)

Side view (and watched her conducted)

I learned from the security guard, the this choir is from St. Paul's Pasig City. I thought they performed well.

My Page Rank and Alexa Rank

A fellow blogger provided a link where Pay Per Post based the rankings. The site is the Page Rank Commonality / Alexa Rank Checker. Just enter your URL; and it would give you your blog's Page Rank and Alexa Rank.

As at today, my Page Rank is 2/10 and my Alexa Rank is 1,741,361. I will try my best to improve these rankings.

My user name - TiOheM

My user name is TiOheM. Where or how did I get this user name? If you will remove the small letter from it - i, h & e, what remain are T, O, & M. TOM is my nickname. Actually, I attempted to register my nickname TOM; but it has already been taken. So, I thought of just pronouncing the letters of my nickname - and I arrived at Ti, Oh, eM. Isn't it cool?

TiOheM

Who should read this blog?

I've seen this "Blog Readability Test - What level of education is required to understand your blog?" in other blogs. I thought of checking my blogs. This blog' reading level is GENIUS. I tried to post the badge here but it has link to a cash advance site; so I just deleted the badge.

I was also thinking if I would not post this anymore. I just decided to strike through the post. LOL.

Potpot pictures

I already featured Potpot, our pet shi tzu dog, in my other blog "Think of Me". Yesterday, he was newly bathed and groomed. I took my camera and took his pictures. This little dog, whose only love is to sleep, is camera shy. Eveytime you would focus the camera to him, he became conscious and turn his head away. Luckily, he was in the mood but was very lazy to stand up.

Bowling Pin Trophy

This is my trophy for being the 1st Runner-up of the Masters Event - Class 3 (Men's Division) of the just concluded 27th Chamber of Mines of the Philippines Annual Tenpin Bowling Tournament. This is a real bowling pin, which was transformed into a trophy. Since Mr. Paeng Nepomuceno was the guest of honor, I had the trophy autographed by him. I need nine more of this to complete the tenpin.

Our Kia Carens

Our Kia Carens is now 25 days old and has run about 1,700 kilometers already. I have driven it to Subic Freeport Zone and Baguio City for the break-in. So far, I am satisfied with its features, power and performance. My only dilemma is I have to wash it more often as dirt and dust are very visible being colored black. Unlike in light colored cars, the dirt and dust seem to blend with the color. Here are some photos:
