Let's dine

Last night, my wife – Beng cooked a simple but healthy and delicious dinner for us. They were Camaron Rebosado and Brocolli in oyster sauce.

I am not dieting nor I watch what I eat – quality or quantity wise. I just control my rice intake from half to one cup only – half cup most of the time. Sometimes, I don’t eat rice anymore, especially if the viands are aplenty. Last night, however, I consumed about two cups.

I have my own styles

I am not easily influenced by any celebrity, foreign or local, about the styles I have to wear or follow. It is because I have my own styles, which I follow. There are celebrities though whose styles are similar to mine. That is fine with me. As for the pants, shirts, and other apparels, I like the style and fit of Dockers. So, most of the times, I wear Dockers. Sometimes, my wife calls me Mr. Docky, whenever I am wearing one.

Jon's birthday celebration

Last Saturday, we celebrated the birthday of our nephew – Jon in a nearer resort in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. It is a pool resort called the “Grotto Vista Resort”. The original plan was to celebrate it in a beach resort in Bagac, Bataan. But, because Bataan was being battered by Typhoon “Cosme” and it was under signal number one, the original plan was called off.

Nonetheless, everybody enjoyed the birthday celebration.

Here are some views of Grotto Vista Resort:

If my Dockers pants could talk!

240x180
I have been wearing Dockers pants since the first time my wife bought me a pair years ago. I love wearing Dockers pants; and, if possible, I do not want to take them off. And, if these pants could talk, they would also say, “Please do not doff me.” They fit me well, and, I like their styles. Also, I am being complimented by my friends when I am wearing Dockers pants; and, I love it. Thus, I told my wife not to buy me other brands but Dockers.

I have heard good stories from my friends about their Dockers pants. And, I know that most Dockers pants owners have good and nice stories to tell too about their Dockers pants. If you have your own story about your Dockers pants, Dockers is currently conducting Dockers TV Commercial Contest. Joining the Dockers contest is free. No purchase of Dockers products is required. If you think your story is worthwhile, I encourage you to submit your story as video to the Dockers contest and get a chance to win the Grand Prize. Just make it sure that you are a legal resident of the United States or District of Columbia and you are eighteen years of age or older. If you are not qualified, you can still participate by watching the entries and rate them.

A World-Class Expressway

There’s a new Philippine expressway connecting the provinces of Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales and Bataan. It is called the Subic – Clark – Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). The segment from North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) up to Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) has been opened several weeks ago; but the Tarlac to Clark segment is still close. We have traversed it from the NLEX up to SBFZ. And, here are the pictures I took while driving:

Choose and rate your favorite contest video

240x180
Check out the ongoing Dockers TV Commercial Contest. If you have got your own style, why not join the Dockers contest and create a 30-second video advertisement for Dockers. There are already videos that have been submitted; and I was able to watch some of them. I think most of them are good for Dockers advertisement. Some videos are funny; but they are good though. So far, I like the “Do it on Dockers” video by Pennkraus. I still have to see more entries and decide who my favorite is really.

If you want to join, you can submit your entries until May 29. 2008. However, only legal residents of the United States or the District of Colombia who are 18 years old or older are eligible to join. Too bad, I am not a resident of the United States. Anyway, I could participate by rating the entries, which I already did for the videos that I have watched.

If you are qualified, creative, and video savvy, I encourage you to join this exciting Dockers contest. Okay, get your video camera and start shooting. Who knows, your entry will end up as the winner and get the chance to be aired once during the broadcast of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on June 13, 2008.

The Dockers contest is sponsored by Dockers San Francisco.

Wanna be scared?

Do you want to be scared? Would a real scary movie do the trick? Then, watch the newest Horror movie – the Frontier(s). But, I suggest watching the Trailer first as this horror movie may be too scary for you. I watched the Trailer to see what it really offers and I found it gruesome and gory. That must be the reason why it was slapped an NC-17 rating. Xavier Gens, the director of the Hitman, wrote and directed this horror movie. It was originally intended for the Horrorfest 2007; but, due to its controversy, it hit the US theaters instead – unrated and uncut. Most unrated movies do not get to the theaters; but this one is able to hit the theaters. For the select theater listings, please visit http://frontiersunrated.com

I told my wife about it; and she is very excited to watch this movie. My wife is a fan and lover of horror films. She also collects DVD’s of the horror movies she had watched. And, I know she would buy the unrated and uncut DVD of the Frontier(s) as part of her collections.

I would recommend this movie, especially to those who have the courage for scary movies. If you have no or little guts, bring your family and friends with you. I am sure you would enjoy this albeit the bone chills it would give you. Visit http://frontiersunrated.com to check the select theater listings and find the one that is nearest you.

Typhoon "Cosme" ruins our trip

We were supposed to go to a beach resort in Bagac, Bataan to celebrate the birthday of our nephew, Jon. This has been planned and prepared a month ago. But, because of typhoon "Cosme", which is expected to land fall by tomorrow, we postponed the trip but not the celebration. Typhoon "Cosme" has been bringing rains to the metropolis, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Signal no. 1 has been raised in the place where we are going.

We are still looking for an alternative pool resort in the metropolis or in nearby province - Bulacan to celebrate his birthday.

Please check PAGASA for more details and information on typhoon "Cosme".

I like scary movies

Are you brave enough to watch a real scary movie? I am; and my wife too. Have you heard about the newest scary movie? This newest Horror Movie - the Frontier(s), is really a scary movie. And, it may be too scary for you. Well, you can check if you really have the guts to do so. Watch its Trailer first at http://www.frontiersunrated.com. I like watching scary movies; and the trailer gave me a scare. I am sure it is a chiller to the bone horror movie. After watching the trailer and you think you would survive watching it until the end, check out the select theater listings nearest your place at http://www.frontiersunrated.com.

This horror film is written and directed by Xavier Gens. Because of its controversy, it hit selected theaters in the US unrated.and uncut. The unrated and uncut DVDs are now available.

It is a story of a gang of small time crooks who took advantage of riots in the French inner cities to rob. But something goes wrong and the group splits up. Being pursued by police, some of the gang take refuge in a hostel owned by degenerate redneck. They are unaware that their hick hosts are neo-Nazi cannibals. . . I’m stopping my account here.

I will definitely watch this one together with my wife, who is also a lover of horror movies.

In the Navy

We were in Harrison Plaza in Manila yesterday afternoon when we spotted a Philippine Navy band preparing their instruments on a makeshift stage. We learned that the Philippine Navy shall be celebrating its Founding Anniversary on May 20, 2008. As part of its pre-celebration, they are conducting mall tours to showcase their mission and accomplishments through film showing and pictures display. They are also encouraging young men and women aged 18 to 24 to join the navy.

The Naval Base Cavite (NBC) band and the Philippine Marines combo entertained the shoppers and mall patrons by playing their respective repertoires for free. The band received runs of applause for its good performance; while the combo stirred the crowd by playing the latest hits.

When I was a kid, it was my dream to be in the navy. My uncle was a sailor in the Philippine Navy; and I have three cousins who also joined the navy. Though I did not become a navy, I had some naval training - being an officer in Naval ROTC.
