Lasik then, iLasik now

I am really amazed at how the latest technology can do to our everyday lives.  It helps us manage our daily tasks so easily and simplify hard-to-do jobs.  It can also help correct and cure medical and physical defects.  An example is the Lasik.  Knowing the LASIK information would help you decide to try Lasik.

Lasik has been proven the best cure to eye sight problems, which has benefited most people for more than five years.  And, aside from correcting visual problems, it has helped the U. S. military and NASa increase and enhance the performance of its mission-critical personnel.  The Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA are using this technology to improve the vision of specialized personnel in performing their critical jobs.  And, they confirmed that Lasik has exceeded all established standards of safety and effectiveness.

LASIK technology has been improved, further developed and modernized.  The new Lasik is now known as iLasik.  The iLasik Procedure now uses two lasers instead of one.  And, therefore, it is more or doubly effective.  It is like saying two heads are better than one.  In the latest stage of iLasik, an ultrafast, computer-guide laser creates a corneal flap, which replaces the handheld microkeratome blade for the older Lasik.  This makes the procedure safer.  Then, the wave-front mapping data guides a second laser for vision correction.

Military’s evaluaton of the iLasik in 100 military personnel resulted to 95% achievement of 20/20 uncorrected vision or better. 100% of naval aviations, who undergone the procedure, are recommending the surgery to their co-aviators.  Per Dr. Schallhorn, “technologically speaking, there is no better time than now to join the over 12 million Americans who have benefited from LASIK."

You can trace the unknown numbers

When the cost of cell phone became affordable, I bought one.  It is one of the best and useful gadgets ever invented in this age of technology.  Nowadays, almost everyone is carrying one or two units.

With a handy cell phone, you can call and be called anywhere you are as long there is a signal. However, I have been receiving unwanted calls – particularly from telemarketers and prank callers.  It's so annoying answering these callers.  So, I don’t answer calls, whose numbers are not in my phonebook.  But, some of them are valid calls.

I wish there is a service here like the PhoneInfoTracer.com, which is available for telephone and cell numbers in the United States and Canada only.  The reverse phone lookup of PhoneInfoTracer.com would help you find out the caller’s name, address, carrier, and some details even if the number is unlisted.  With these data, you would know what call to answer the next time the caller dial your number.  It is also useful in tracing the unknown number that appeared in your billing.

Luigi's birthday celebration

We simply and extemporaneously celebrated my son's birthday in Teriyaki Boy in Trinoma. The only guest is her Tita Elvie. These are the food that we ordered.

California Maki. It’s good there’s one left and I was able to capture it.

House tea. It’s the best; because, it’s free.

The classic Ebi Tempura

Kani Salad

Asparagus wrapped in bacon(I forgot the Japanese term)

Yaki Udon (or is it Yaki Soba?)

Unagi Teriyaki - my favorite among my favorites

Salmon Teriyaki - another favorite

My favorite American Seafood Recipe

I love eating but moderately. And, my wife enjoys cooking; and, she collects recipes of different dishes from around the world just to impress me. I am the number one fan of my favorite cook – my wife. And, she knows my favorite food, which is seafood - fishes, shrimps, squids, crabs, shells, and almost anything edible you catch under the sea, river, and pond.

I learned and visited a great site about the Great American Seafood Cook-Off. It is currently holding a cook off - Recipe Contest. The top five recipes have been voted upon and named by the judges. And, it’s up for the people to choose and vote for their favorite recipe from the top five.

I have two favorites and in a quandary which one to vote. They are:
  • Colorado Striped Bass Panzanella by Colorado’s Chef Paul Anders
  • Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots by Maryland’s Chef Tafari Campbell
After a profound consideration, I picked the Colorado Striped Bass Panzanella. I love eating seafood, particularly fishes. I like their taste; and they are healthier to eat. I believe they have no or little cholesterol.

I will download the recipe and would ask my wife to cook it. She is good in altering recipes. But, if I am to decide, I would rather not alter the recipe. The recipe is created by one of the best chefs; and, it must be good. And, I would request her to use the domestic seafood as they are still fresh and have great taste.

If you have not visited this great site yet: www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com, I am encouraging you to do so; and, you will not regret it. Instead, you would learn new recipes created by great chefs. And, if you vote for your favorite recipe, you would get the chance to win a trip to New Orleans prize package.
