Web Hosting Geeks

I have been blogging for more than a year now. But, I am still using the free blog platforms. Most of my blogging friends have already shifted to their own domains and have their blogs hosted. I am planning to follow suit but not for now yet. Anyway, I am not in a hurry. I am still busy with other things – personal and official.

One blogging friend is constantly prodding me to get my own domain and have my blog hosted. “Yes, I would”, I told him, “sooner or later”. “When that time finally comes, go to Webhostinggeeks.com”, he advised. “Okay”, was my reply.

What is with Webhostinggeeks.com anyway? Better visit it and find out why. Webhostinggeeks.com independently reviews the best web hosting providers. In its website, it lists the top 10 web hosts, the best web hosts for the year, the features, the ratings, the awards, the plans, and the reviews. It also gives tips on web hosting instructions and guides, finding and choosing the best website hosting services, and how to make money. I think this site is great and useful.

When the time to have my own domain and my blog hosted comes, I know where to go – Webhostinggeeks.com. Isn’t great to know that someone online would help me find and choose the right web host for me!

If you are looking for a web host, I recommend that you go the Webhostinggeeks.com first.

SocialSpark - the best way to advertise

Companies or businesses with online presence are way ahead compared to their offline competitors. But, being online is not a guarantee of making more sales. Online marketing competitions are also tight. One must be dynamic, proactive and not static to attain online success. The key is traffic. Driving traffic to your website would bring your products or services closer to your prospective customers. How would you do that? One way is through search engine optimization or SEO. It simply means driving traffic to your blog via the search engines. The other way, which is better, is to advertise your products or services online. The effective way to advertise online is through SocialSpark.com, which connects advertisers to bloggers through an online advertising marketplace.

I am a blogger and a new publisher at SocialSpark. It is the newest marketing site; but it has surpassed other marketing sites in terms of the number of available opportunities. I like its system compared to others. And, I am surprised with the number of opportunities I have taken and published. And, I would love to see more advertisers and opportunities, particularly about cars and their accessories, sports equipment, and men’s accessories.

If you are an advertiser and want to make more sales, advertise your products or services through SocialSpark.com. You will never go wrong with SocialSpark. It is created and owned by IEZA, Inc., the leading social marketing network, and the sister site of PayPerPost – another successful marketing site, which I am also a proud publisher.

Drive traffic to your blog effectively

There are millions of websites and blogsites currently active over the internet; and thousands are being created and published everyday. With these numbers, it is very difficult for your blog and contents to stand out. Thus, it is very important to create and drive traffic to your blog.

Buzzfuse is a content marketing service that helps content creators market their contents effectively by expanding their reach, deepening their interaction with their audience, and providing reports that help you understand your market and what they do with your contents. Buzzfuse also helps consumers easily find the stuff they are searching for. I think this is a great way of driving traffic to your blog. Thus, I already registered with its free service to try it. To get more hits, a premium service at reasonable price is also available.

My current page rank

This blog’s page rank is, or should I say was, PR2. I was checking my PayPerPost account, when I noticed that the Google page rank of this blog is no longer 2 but zero. I think it has already suffered the same fate as my other blog, Think of Me! - its PR3 evaporated in thin air. Ironically, I knew a new blog that is two months old, less active, with four posts only, and with little or practically no traffic but already have PR2. My other blog, which was dormant for a long time and has five entries only, had PR3. It’s funny, isn’t it? Is page ranking realistic or it is just manipulating the cyber world?

My current Alexa rank is 1,145, 722 from 1,741,361 a month ago.

Another attempt to withdraw from Paypal

This is my third attempt. First, I reviewed again the procedures about withdrawing from Paypay personal account, particularly to a credit card:

  1. Credit cards with VISA logo only are acceptable. Other credit cards, such as AMEX, Mastercard can be used in other transactions.
  2. The minimum withdrawal is US$10; and the maximum withdrawal per day is US$500;
  3. The processing period is 5 to 7 days, but it still depends on the card issuer’s policy;
  4. The withdrawal fee is $5;
  5. The return fee is $10, if the withdrawn fund is returned to Paypal due to incomplete and incorrect information in the withdrawal request.

Since I have no VISA credit card yet, I tried to enroll my wife’s Metrobank VISA. YES! It was accepted; and it was not required to be enrolled in the Expanded Use Program (if for withdrawal purpose only). So, I attempted to withdraw to her VISA card. I entered the amount to be withdrawn and clicked the "Continue" button. On the review page, however, my name and not my wife’s name appeared as the “Name on Card”. During the enrollment, I edited my name to that of my wife in the form as the card holder. But, apparently, Paypal assumes that the Paypal account holder is the same as the holder of enrolled credit card.

Thus, I hesitated to confirm the transaction lest I might be charged $10 return fee due to incorrect information. I just canceled it.

Meantime, while my fund is accumulating, I’d would apply for a credit card with VISA logo or request my wife’s card issuer to issue an extension card for me.

My user name - TiOheM

My user name is TiOheM. Where or how did I get this user name? If you will remove the small letter from it - i, h & e, what remain are T, O, & M. TOM is my nickname. Actually, I attempted to register my nickname TOM; but it has already been taken. So, I thought of just pronouncing the letters of my nickname - and I arrived at Ti, Oh, eM. Isn't it cool?

A "photo & joke" blog?

This blog may not be a "joke only" blog anymore. I'm thinking of making it a "photo & joke" blog.

My first blog entitled "Think Of Me!" is in i.ph, which I created on May 23, 2007. Four days later, I created this blogspot blog. Also, I created another three blogs - about insurance, bowling, and jokes. I made this blogspot blog a portal to my other blogs. Unfortunately, I don't have the needed time and energy to maintain all five blogs. So, I decided to keep two blogs only - the Think Of Me! and this blogspot blog but made the latter my joke blog.

As for the insurance and bowling blogs, they are very hard to maintain; as the review and research are time consuming, which I don't have at the moment. I may, in the future, revive them.

So, good luck to me! Meantime, I'm still thinking for the new name of this blog.

Tinkering with My Blog

My other blog, Think Of Me!, was under regular check-up.

Meantime, I tinkered with this blog and learned so much about it, such as adding and arranging page elements, changing templates, changing fonts and colors.

I tried all the templates available and changed the default. I also installed Adsense on my blog.

I still have more to learn.

Midyear

It's the last day of June. And a few hours from now, we're on the second semester of 2007. I still remember what happened last January. Time has really flown so fast.

I'd been before my laptop since I woke up this morning. I stopped only to eat lunch. Then I took a nap. After waking up, I was back before my laptop. I've been visiting other blogs, and relevant sites to look for tips on how to improve my blogging, writing and my blog as well.

Since I registered last May 26, this is only my second post. My first post was only a test post. I'm still undecided whether to pursue another blog. I don't have the luxury of time to maintain two (2) blogs. Also, I'm really not a writer; and writing is a painstaking task for me. I don't know when my third post would be. Anyway, I'm just reserving this blog.
